The Mac Becomes The Perfect Console Experience

I am playing Ratchet and Clank right now on my MacBook Air.  How is this possible?  Through the magic of the PS4 plus Remote Play.

I have a small TV which I have to sit in a chair in front of in order to game.  Now I can game from the comfort of my couch and finally AAA Gaming has come to the MacBook Air.

I've always been limited to older titles on my Air.  Now I can stream my favorite console titles and even play with my Dual Shock 4.

Some people have reported issues with streaming but I have not had these issues.  The only thing I can say is this is best on the same network with a wired PS4 and a Mac connected via wifi.

I tried taking my Mac to the bar to play but it did not work from there due to the bar's slow internet speeds.

This will also work on PC but often you can game on PC's already.  The Air is not a gaming machine but I can now game on it regardless.  This is great tech and great fun.

Uncharted 4 arrives today!  Let the gaming commence!

Just Japan Podcast Episode 100

I love Japan for it's tech-geekiness fused with ancient traditions.  I even have a Japan related magazine on Flipboard called Gotta Love Japan.

Well I want to tell you about my favorite Japan centric podcast called the Just Japan Podcast.  Every week it's host, Kevin, interviews new guests about their lives in Japan along with other Japan related topics.

The Just Japan Podcast has just had a mammoth Episode 100 where past guests came on to talk about their first week in Japan.

Give the Just Japan Podcast a listen today on iTunes or Stitcher and subscribe!  If you like it he even has a Patreon campaign which you can donate to.

Mac OS Ken Podcast Covers Apple vs Government Over Privacy

Subscribe to the Mac OS Ken podcast on your Apple Device or Stitcher to listen to yesterday's podcast (from the 18th of February 2016) which Ken describes as Encryptapalooza.  He discusses Apple's Stance against the US Government's request to create a backdoor on an Apple Device.

This is a tricky situation and one that could set a bad precedent if the government gets it's way.

Mac OS Ken

Mac OS Ken is my favorite Apple Podcast.  It comes out Monday-Friday and can be found on iTunes and soon through Google Podcasts.  Give it a listen if you are into Apple stuff like I am.

If you like it he has just started a Patreon Campaign to support his podcast along with his usual sponsors.  You can support him by heading to his Patreon Page and signing up.  Patreon is a great way to support your favorite creators.

Battlestar Galactica Returns

Sci-Fi fans rejoice!  The Guardian reports that Battlestar Galactica is returning "to the big screen as a multiple-film franchise" in an attempt to rival Star Wars.

Battlestar Galactica has been in movie form before, first via "a version of the 1978 series pilot and two further feature-length offerings, Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack and Conquest of the Earth."

The Guardian speculates that Universal has the muscle to pull this off as a rival to Star Wars.  Time will tell, but a reboot of Battlestar Galactica would be most welcome.  Bring it on!
