Playstation VR Loses Developer

According to GameSpot,  a lead developer of Playstation VR at Sony, Dave Ranyard, has left the team after nearly 17 years.  He is leaving to start "his own independent career in the virtual reality market."

He was head of Sony's London Studio.

It seems like a tumultuous time in VR with people being bought up by big companies and others looking to rake in on the possibilities that VR will present in the future.  Time will tell if it is a technology fad or something that will redefine computing and gaming for the future.

Much luck to Dave.

Assassins Creed on Hiatus

The UbiBlog reports that UbiSoft while not discontinuing Assassins Creed will be "stepping back and re-examining the Assassin’s Creed franchise. As a result, we’ve decided that there will not be a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2016." Personally I think this is a good move as some Assassin's Creed games have been lackluster over the years.  Black Flag and Syndicate show how well the franchise can do given the proper amount of time. I'd rather see a good Assassin's Creed game once every two years that have them come out with one every year and have it not meet the mark. Let's hope 2017 brings something good for the Franchise.  I hear Ancient Egypt is next??  Time will tell.

Vita Slim

So I had to have it.  I loved my original PS Vita and I had to upgrade to the slim.  It has 1GB storage, better battery life, is thinner, lighter, has wider grips on the back, but the screen is worse but honestly I couldn't tell.  I think it is a good upgrade.  I gave my old Vita to my brother.  I really appreciate the new battery life.  I played a few sessions and hardly noticed a drop in batteries.  Awesome.

I recommend the Vita.  I really like mine.  It works even better as a PS4 accessory since you can stream your PS4 on it.  Pretty soon it will have PS Now which will allow you to stream PS3 games to it.  It is awesome.  Get one.

Diablo 3 PS3

Diablo_III_cover.png

Spent my afternoon playing Diablo 3 local coop with my brother.  He comes over about once a week for Game Day and we play video games together.  Diablo 3 is great fun playing cooperatively.  We are kicking ass in the game so far.  Might have to bump up the difficulty level.  I am playing as the archer and he has the witch doctor.  We just beat Act 1.  6 more to go.  Can't wait for more.

New Alienware 14 Laptop

I love my new laptop! It is great to be using a PC again. PC gaming is fun and I can play on the couch or in bed or at the bar. I am totally mobile because I have a gaming laptop.

This is a Windows 7 machine. Windows 8 isn't supposed to be great for gaming so Alienware still uses Win 7. Fine by me. I like Win 7.

This laptop is slick. I looks and feels great. Nice materials. Love the lights even though it is just eye candy. Plays games great.

Playstation Now

Can't wait for Playstation Now which goes into Beta this month with a full roll out in Summer.

Playstation Now will let you stream PS1, PS2, and PS3 games to Playstation Consoles, PS Vita, Televisions, Tablets, and Smartphones.

This will be great especially for the PS Vita.  Imagine this whole Playstation library available to you on Vita over wireless.  It will be the largest handheld library in the world.

We don't have to wait long and this will be a reality.
